Campaign cartographer 3 full interface3/28/2024 ![]() ![]() I prefer it over Dungeondraft for many use cases when I really want to make something nice and complex, whereas I begin to use Dungeondraft for quick and simple stuff. It's not difficult, but not the easiest either. I've used this for several years, encountered many of the bugs, and it works for most general use cases. Version 1 of this is still functional, and very useful for making my dungeons nowadays. The assets provided by users of this program in the workshop are very good AND diverse (the other programs i listed are almost exclusively fantasy themed I run fantasy, modern and sci-fi) and I look forward to more creative assets as the program expands in scope. ![]() A lot of the other programs require you to subscribe, buy, use patreon, or other methods to gain access to a vast collection of assets to make maps (some of which should be considered basic assets for map making). I enjoy it because of the assets the community supports the program with. ![]() A lot of the programs have the same abilities (layers, shadowing, etc.) So why choose this one? I still find myself coming back to this program to make most of my tactical maps.ĭPS is neither the easiest nor the hardest to use (although there are plenty of videos to explain how everything works, some by amazing artist). I own and use a number of map designer programs (Campaign Cartographer 3, Wunderdraft, Dungeondraft, Arkenforge, Mapforge, Dungeon Fog, GiMP, Clip Studio, etc). ![]()
